How Can A Painful Muscle Pull In The Calf Be Treated?

I thought I pulled my calf a week ago. My leg was very tight and each step was somewhat painful. This morning I took an awkward step and it really tugged. Through the day it has become less tight and uncomfortable. There is also a strange bulge around my calf. I fear I may have torn a tendon. Should I have it looked at tonight or is Monday ok?

Hello,

It can be due to intermittent claudication which is causing you pain. You need to get leg Doppler done to see if any vascular obstruction is there and get treated accordingly. You can use leg compressors to feel better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Archana
