How Can A Painful Wasp Sting On The Hand Be Treated?
I got stung by a wasp in bed on Saturday nite, now the area is swollen, red, painful and itching, the stinger is still in , I got stung on the wrist just below the hand, now the swelling is half way up my arm and also experienced fatigue yesterday. should I see a doctor?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful wasp sting on the hand which seems to be due to infection due to venom after sting or allergic reaction due to sting of wasp. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to clean wound with cold water and soap , also clean it with beta dine and take anti histamine such as Benadryl twice a day. Maintain complete hygiene. If condition doesn't get improve then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may remove the sting from wound, prescribe antibiotics or immunosuppressants.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
