How Can A Penile Injury Be Treated?

Hello, A few months ago while being intimate with my girlfriend I cut my frenulum. My biggest problem is trying to clean the area when I shower. My foreskin is difficult to retract now and at times a little painful. Sometimes while pulling back my foreskin in the shower, that small cut on my frenulum re-opens. Most of the time it doesn t bleed at all. I ve tried Neosporin and other ointments and they don t seem to help much. How am I suppose to clean myself without hurting that area? This happened to me many years ago and it took 7-8 months to heal. Im also a Type 1 diabetic. Thanks for your time, - Lazarus

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are typical of a clinical condition called phimosis.

The best possible option for your condition will be circumcision.

Consult a urologist and plan for a circumcision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
