How Can A Pinched Nerve In The Lower Back Be Treated?

I had a pinched nerve in my lower back which started the neuropathy in my legs and feet. My legs have gotten better, but the pain in my feet is unbearable at times. My feet feel like 2 blocks. I am taking PT and Gabapentin, but I am still having pain especially when trying to sleep. Is this ever going to go away?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve.

I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

I also recommend using a splint to maintain the area immobilized.

I suggest doing physical therapy to strengthen the muscle around the nerve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
