How Can A Pinched Nerve In The Lower Spine Be Treated?
Hello Doctor. I have 2 pinched nerves is my lower lumbar spine. These nerves effect my walking. Both feet and ankles hurt when I walk and when I stop to rest the pain goes away. I was prescribed Gabapentin (Neurontin) 300mg. I am nervous about taking this medication because I know that it is a med used for epilepsy. What should I do? I feel as though it is just a bandage to what the problem really is. I need your suggestions to my problem. I have been suffering with this problem since 2013. I am now 68 yrs of age. Retired from Pgh Board of Educdation where I cleaned a whole school by myself and did a lot of manual duties. HELP ME :)
It is true that Gabapentin is prescribed for epilepsy. But,this medication is also used to relieve nerve pain. So this medication is correctly used for pinched nerve. You can use it without any worries.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
