How Can A Pinched Nerve In The Neck Be Treated?

I have a pinched neck nerve probably due to stenosis of the foramin of the cervical vertebrae. I have some stomach upset, redness in the cheeks and fatigue, the last probably due to pain and sleeplessness. The doctor has me on meloxicam, gabapentin, and as needed Norco for pain. I have been on the meloxicam and gabapentin for a little over a week with what seems to be minor improvements. Oral steroids before that and ibuprofen before that. I think it best that to determine side effect causes I should eliminate the meloxicam or the gabapentin. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Given symptoms are not due to cervical spine lesion or disease, neither the disease is given for that. The symptoms, like stomach upset, fatigue, lack of sleep seems to be due to functional disorders and it could be fibromyalgia, IBS, anxiety and depression, even the given medicines indicated for that only. You can try some aerobic exercise. Also, try to be positive and stop worrying.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
