How Can A Prognosis Be Understood Through A Fungus Examination Result?
My daughter is having the problem of excessive hair loss. She was advised to go in for Fungus Examination. The results were negative for Hair but ++++ for Scalp.She was advised Candid lotion for scalp; Steiprox Shampoo bi-weekly. But still the results have not been very positive.Can you prescribe any thing in addition to above please? XXXX

Fungal infection of the scalp is a major cause for hair loss and it will take time for complete cures.
Nothing much to worry and your treatment is in the right track. If there no response, oral antifungals like fluconazole may be started after consulting a dermatologist.
