Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can A Pus Filled Spider Bite Be Treated With Medication?
I have a spider bite and the past 2 days I have been squeezing pus out a little at a time and letting the bleeding stop and cleaning it and putting triple antibiotic ointment on it and covering it with a bandaid today I was getting pus out and I think I got the core out Idk what to do now its still swollen
A pus-filled spider bite is mainly due to gram-positive bacterial infection and if infection increases through sweat glands it can lead to the formation of pus. I would recommend you to keep the area dry as much as you can.
Don't apply any cream or warm compresses. Apply only cold compresses. It is a self-limiting condition. If it keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once and gets it examined completely and start a proper course of antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications.
Take all necessary precautions as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
