Hi sir/madam A domestic rat just bite on one of my finger on leg. It was very small wound. Not even a wound just a single dot on finger. However 2-3 drops of blood come out. I have washed already twice with water. Now it is late night. I have used iodex over that. Do i need to rush hospital now only or can i wait till morning? What treatment should i expect? Whta injections must required? Rat seems to be pregnant. Does that make any difference? Please guide. Many thanks in advance..

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. You need to take intradermal rabies vaccine to be on safe side. If you are not immunized for tetanus then tetanus toxoid injection also should be taken. A course antibiotic also should be taken. I would suggest cefixime for this. First dose of Vaccine should be taken with in 24 hours of bite. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
