How Can A Scorpion Sting Under The Foot Be Treated?
I think I was stung by a scorpion on the bottom of my foot. I felt a sting then numbness. The next day my foot is really bruised in that area. Is bruising normal for a scorpion sting? I didn t actually see the bug but I see live scorpions in our home often.
Usually, the scorpion sting causes discomfort that slowly decreases over time. A person who has been stung by a scorpion may feel a painful, tingling, burning or numbing sensation at the sting site and this is mild reaction in your case. The reaction at the sting site may appear mild and rarely, experiencing a serious reaction.
The serious reaction may develop severe symptoms throughout the body but fortunately you don't have it. In most scorpion stings of adults, treatment is simply supportive and can be done at home like apply cool compresses in the sting place, taking acetaminophen. If symptoms increase in severity, go to an Emergency Department.
I hope my answer help you. Let me know if I can assist you further. I wish you quick recovery.
Regards, Dr. Monika Dede
