Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On vacation this week and on Monday I got a sunburn on my face but not under my eyes. Woke up this morning (Thursday) with my right eye swollen under it and on each side of my nose. Has swollen more as the day has progressed. Is now swollen farther underneath my right eye onto my cheek. No pain just swollen. No visible bug bites. What might have caused this?
As per your query, you have symptoms of sunburn on face along with swelling which is severest form. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take anti-allergic medicine that is Fexofenadine 60 mg two times a day and apply aloe vera gel.
You should not pick them and apply broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF15 on affected area while going outside. Apply Bacitracin and Xylocaine ointment on face. Also apply cold compresses to affected area.
If symptoms keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once and get it examined completely and start treatment after thorough examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
