How Can A Teenager Be Counselled About The Negative Effects Of Over Eating By Parents?

Hello Doctor;we are concern for our grand daughter .She is 17.She was bulyed in school.She can t stop Eating, and is very overweight.She is working at a donut shop and eats and eats. She is failing in school, and lost all her friends, because of rumors of the bulyed croud How can we help her an her parents? Should her parents have meeting whith her and ask how they can help her?and that they are concern about h her?.Her parents and us are very athletic.Thank you we appreciate your help

You need to understand her firstly evaluate her excessive eating is due to stress or she like food. If she is foody family may have to put efforts before living home let her eat fibres that is fruit or veggie and have water then let her eat other things by which her intake will reduce,and gradually change her eating habits,if her eating is due to stress she may require family support and to fill lit if confidence in her and motivate to lose wait in s positive way.
