i have several broken teeth which have become infected and now my ear has ached severly for a couple days (sharp stabbing pains) and i went to the e. r. and they gave me antibiotics augmentin and i have taken for a few days and it isnt getting any better
If you have multiple broken teeth that are also getting painful then it is clear indication that the nerves are exposed that are getting inflamed leading to pain..
Taking antibiotics will reduce infection but for immediate pain relief you need to take painkillers like Ibuprofen, Naproxen, diclofenac etc..
But for permanent relief you need to get the teeth treated as well as once get you ear also examined for excluding or treating ear infection..
First of all consult a Dentist and get evaluated and an x ray of your broken teeth has to be done to check which teeth can be saved and which has to be removed..
Those teeth which can be saved, Root canal treatment can be done followed by capping of the same for relieving pain and saving the teeth.. Teeth that are grossly decayed should be removed..
Hope this helps..
Regards.

Taking antibiotics will reduce infection but for immediate pain relief you need to take painkillers like Ibuprofen, Naproxen, diclofenac etc.. But for permanent relief you need to get the teeth treated as well as once get you ear also examined for excluding or treating ear infection..
