How Can A Urinary Tract Infection Be Treated?

I have Citro Bacter urinary tract infection and on warfrin. The nurse called and said stop taking the antibiotic cause it want help me, she said the only way it can be treated is with IV antibiotic . I just had surgery on my Aorta 6 weeks ago and got a mechanical devise in me. She wants me to pick up another antibiotic take it for 5 days and check with my heart doctor and get my levels tested. I think I should just get admited and get the IV antibiotic. What do you think?

I understand your concern.
Urinary tract infection needs to be evaluated and treated by institution of appropriate course of antibiotics.
Choice of antibiotics would depend on urine culture and sensitivity test, which will tell which organism is causing infection and what are the antibiotics which the organism is sensitive to.
Kindly get the urine test done and consult Urologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
