How Can A Vaginal Infection Be Treated?

Hi, i m a 19 year old girl and I think I have a yeast infection. I had got injured at one of my basketball games and had to get stitches. My doctor gave me antibitics to take so that I wouldn t get any infections. I took about 3 of the pills and then stopped taking them completely. There were 14 in the capsule and I was suppose to take 2 a day. This was on december 4th. I stopped taking the pills on the 6th I believe. Now today is the 25 and I ve had symptoms of a yeast infect for three days now. My vagina has been really itchy inside and like around it and I ve had a lot of cottage cheese looking discharge when I scratch. This has never happend to me before so I don t know what to do. Please help. What can I use to get rid of this?

Hello,

There is a possibility of infection in the wound due to incomplete antibiotics, improper cleaning or mopping of the wound, leading to make the area moist and damp, causing yeast infection.

You need to keep the part clean and dry, apply Clometrozole ointment over the counter (not on open wound, to the itching part)

If you have sex, you can use vaginal pessaries instead. In case of no relief with this, then you need to consult a gynecologist for prescription of specific medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
