Hello,

I have gone through your question and understand your concern. It looks like a hypertrophied scar or a keloid scar which is caused by excess collagen laid down at the site of injury. Use of emery board or wart removal measures at home should be avoided for it can cause infections and some wart removal ointments can cause extensive tissue damage.

In my opinion you should see a GP as you mentioned the swelling hurts it need to be examined and treatment choices will include injection of corticosteroid in scar, laser or cryo therapy or surgical excision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
