How Can Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed witb 2 abdominal aortic aneurysms after already having had 2 aortic aneurysms repaired 20 years ago and they are already 5 cm dilated, so how dangerous is this? My previous 2 aortic aneurysm s were a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm(dilated to 8.6 cm, about 9 inches long) and a Supra Renal Abdominal aortic aneurysm(dilated to 5.6) and were repaired in separate surgeries when I was 25 and 28 years of age.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is very important to control your blood pressure. Doctors may prescribe beta blockers as one of several medications. Aortic aneurysm can be followed up with CT angiography, to view it is progression.

You may have to follow up doctors until the time comes for surgical repair. And an aortic aneurysm threshold value is 5 cm. Meanwhile, do not strain yourself by lifting heavy things.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi
