How Can Abdominal Pain Be Treated?

I have stomach pian. I was diagnosed with 2 small ulcers (peptic as I recall). They were treated but the pain has returned some 8 months later. Fairly severe pian that begins 3 hours after eating and last 8-8.5 hours. I was told to take omerperzole and an anti acid otc med. I notice my stool is very dark as well. The doc says it will take time for my stomach to repair. This is life changing and somethings just not right.

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Peptic ulcers are ulcers in the mucosa of the stomach lining. They cause bleeding inside the gut and the blood gets converted to acid haematin in presence of gastric acid and leads to dark stools. In these cases the treatment involves taking Ppi like omeprazole and ant acids religiously so as to give your lining an environment conducive to healing. Kindly follow your doctor's instructions and start omeprazole and ant acids and it will stabilize after sometime. Thanks. Hope I was helpful.
