How Can Acid Reflux And Pain In The Upper Abdomen Be Treated?

I had my gall bladder removed in 2004. Since then I have suffered with severe heart burn and IBS. I take medication for these. I often get pain in the middle upper section of my abdomen and quite a lot on the left side. I had a dream that my upper left side was in severe pain but when I woke up it really was and my mouth kept filling up with water as though I was going to be sick. I have been very unwell the last 10 days however I do have M.E. And had put the tiredness and looking awful down to this. I think I have some kind of pancreatic illness or an ulcer???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you may be having gastritis or gastroduodenal ulcers. You should do an endoscopy, a tube with camera is inserted through esophagus and stomach. Only it can put diagnosis and treatment.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
