How Can Acid Reflux Be Treated?

Hi last week I had a very bad heartburn. I felt my throat is full of acid and something is stuck in my throat. I met a doctor. I got a test. My GP told fortunately the test is negative. He prescribe Zantac( Rainitidine). It didn t work at all . after two days I felt relay I couldn t breath. One of my fiend is specialist. She recommended Nexium 24. After taking 3 days it really work. However now in day 5 I feel again heartburn but not as much as the past. Should I continue taking up to 14 days? Thanks Mary

Hello welcome to the health care magic

You are having more acid reflux problem

For that strong antacid like nexium can be continued for two week

Kindly mention which tests has been performed

Barium x ray useful and endoscopy can be done to look for Hiatus hernia if present

Head elevated while sleeping

Avoid excess spicy foods

Avoid excess coffee, alcohol, chocolate, smoking etc

Take care

Hope this will help you
