How Can Acid Reflux Be Treated?

My symptoms began last Saturday. I watch my grandson and he had a slight stomach disorder during the same week (Tues thru Sat but with vomiting and diarrhea). I started out being tired with slight nausea but no vomiting or diarrhea. After a few days, the heartburn, feeling a little bloated and gassy. Yesterday and today, the heartburn is really uncomfortable. I just purchased some Prevacid today and started it. My symptoms include the acid reflux and a burning sensation below my breastbone with a slight headache. I feel really tired because the heartburn is keeping me from getting a good s night sleep.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, You have severe acid reflux, so you can take tab. esmoprazole or pantoprazole. Along with that avoid spicy, hot food. Take light food. you may require upper GI endoscopy for proper diagnosis and to rule out H. Pylori infection. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards,
