Dear Doctor, i m a 19 year old girl. I thread my face from time to time and at times it doesnt affect me as much. This time when i got my whole face threaded, i suffered from a sudden breakout all over my left cheek after my face has been clear for quite a while now. It s covered in little red bumps that are mildly painful. Can you please tell me how can i treat it?

Thanks for putting up your query over here. You probably have got facial folliculitis caused due to waxing resulting in friction at your hair roots.Doesnot matter if you previously had not faced such problems with waxing. Follow hygienic measures like washing your face with antibacterial soap, avoid rubbing the skin with towel, avoid using unclean hands on your face, avoid using any cosmetic product or waxing till next 1 month. If its itchy, don't scratch it,instead you can take antihistamines like Avil. If symptoms you have persist or worsen, you need to visit a physician because in that case you may need antibiotics like doxycycline or azithromycin course,to be taken only under physician supervision. Thanks and regards.
