Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m suffering from acne, tiny ones. I happened to see a dermatologist as the conditions were improving. I was given microdox Dt, two tablets per day in the morning and evening with the clinical gel to apply to the affected area. its been a month now and I don t see any improvement in my face. I m rather afraid of taking those pills every day which will affect my menstrual cycle too. What should I do? may I continue microdox Dt and the gel or go for another medical treatment? Appreciate your response - Many thanks in advance
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I think the treatment your doctor gave you is right ,it contains antibiotics amg is for infections. This doesn't effect your cycle.
I would like to recommend you take oral contraceptives because most of acne have hormonal origine.
Your dermatologist may recommend it to you. Meanwhile continue the treatment he gave you properly.
Take care.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you.
Best regards. Dr.Olgeta Xhufka ( general and family physician ).
