Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor, I usually shave my head every 2 days. At some point i noticed like i have 2 little pimples on the head but i never took them seriously and kept on shaving every 2 days. This means the pimple turned into a wound and sometimes the wound dried but created a dark mass a little hard on the head. The doctor tried to cut it but after sometimes it grew again so, lately i have been introduced to the silver nitrate and i have read about the instructions. 1. Should i cut of the hard dark spot then apply the silver nitrate pencil on the wound? 2.Should i apply the silver nitrate pencil on the hard dark mass?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Acne should not be cut whether it is on scalp or any part of the body.
As of now you can apply Clindamycin ointment which shows good results in acne. If it’s look like infected you can take oral antibiotics like Doxycycline or Minocycline. If the lesion persist, you have to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query.
