Hi,I am Dr. Joan F. Tryzelaar (Cardiac Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband will be 60 in a few weeks. He was found to have CHF, Class III, 4 years ago. Now his aortic stenosis has progressed to the point that his doctor doesn't want him to do a stress test. He did one about a year ago and did fine. We are very alarmed about this. He will see his doctor next Thursday, which will be almost 2 weeks since the stress test was canceled. The doctor did an echocardiogram which showed more stenosis. What treatment is available? Thanks for any help.
hello,I have gone through your query. Thanks for choosing HCM.You have been rightly advised to avoid stress testing.Stress Testing in patient of Severe aortic stenosis is risky. If his stenosis has progressed and is severe then he will need aortic valve replacement.I can guide you better if i get detailed echo report, MY best wishes Dr.Teli,
