How Can Acute Back Pain Be Treated?

I have pretty acute back pain. Right side, middle of back. Been having discomfort under ribs, attributed it to non alcoholic fatty liver disease that I was diagnosed with. Controlled diet, liver enzymes returned to normal. Over weekend, liver area discomfort, took omeprazole and it seemed to help. Now the throbbing back pain under shoulder blade

Over-the-counter pain relievers. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen or naproxen sodium , might relieve acute back pain. Take these medications as directed by your physician, because overuse can cause serious side effects.
