How Can Acute Kidney Failure Be Treated?

My husband has been diagnosed with acute kidney failure. His doctor told him to load up on foods high in potassium and salt. He was told to stop taking his high blood pressure medication, because his blood pressure is now low. Why should he eat foods high in potassium and salt? I m reading that those foods are bad. My husband was told there are different diets for people with acute kidney failure.

Hello,

Please see that serum potassium is usually higher in acute kidney failure and your doctor has wrongly advised you. Salts are also to be prohibited in this. So, please consult your doctor once again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
