Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through your short description and I can understand your concerns.
All the symptoms you have mentioned suggestive of
chronic sinusitis along with pharyngitis(inflammation of your throat).
I suggest you to consult an
ENT specialist and get the following things done:-
1.A short course of antibiotics is mandatory. Levofloxacin is quite effective in
sinus infection. Since you had no improvement with your previous antibiotics ,a culture and sensitivity of your nasal discharge might be needed to choose the best antibiotic.
2.You can take analgesics like
acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever and pain.
3.antihistamines like levocetrezine and nasal decongestants like
xylometazoline would provide symptomatic relief.
4.Do
nasal irrigation using saline nasal drops.
5.Steam inhalation twice a day would provide symptomatic relief.
6.Do warm saline gargles or gargling with a
chlorhexidine mouthwash may help to get your voice back.
7.You can use expectorant cough syrups to clear the mucus and secretions.
If the symptoms persist despite all these a CT scan and may be needed to look for the severity of infection.
You might require surgical intervention in resistant cases.
Nowadays, endoscopic methods like FESS(functional endoscopic sinus surgery) is preffered and it is the best option for chronic sinusitis. Results are extremely satisfactory.
Hope i have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
