How Can Allergic Burning And Itching On The Lips Be Treated?

Hello, i think i might have had an allergic reaction to lip balm that I started using. I woke up yesterday with red puffy lips and the outline of lips are dry itchy and my lips and around my mouth constantly burn. I havent put anything on my lips since 2 nights ago. Was it an allergic reaction? also, is there anything i can do to stop the burning and itchiness.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Yes, the symptoms of red puffy lips with burning and itching seems to be due to allergic reaction and can take a few days to heal completely..

To relieve itching and burning you can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine..
Do cool compresses over the lips and avoid sucking or licking the lips..
You can apply Calamine lotion to soothe the skin..
Drink plenty of fluids..
You can apply Aloevera gel cooled in refrigerator and also apply Petroleum jelly to relieve dryness and discomfort..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
