Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I live ina university. I have caught a cold. Allergic to dust pollen and animals. Was in my new flat when in the middle of the night right now. I suddenly felt a sensation I used to just feel when I had Asthama before ( I have seasonal Asthama and bronchitis rhinitis ) was starting to slightly wheeze and was getting uncomfortable in the middle of the night. I had lost my Asthama pump. So I ran down to ad friends and borrowed his. I only occasionally use the pump very randomly when I wheeze like once in six months. I use symbicort but I inhaled his Aerocort once today. My wheezing subsided. And I feel better but I am scared. Is it harmful for my body what I did ? It s still 2 AM here and no hospitals are open except the emergency rooms. Will I need to see a doctor right now. Please let me know if I m in trouble I m scared.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have allergic rhinitis which is due to infection in sinuses. It could be due to exposure to allergens. I would suggest you to avoid exposure to allergen. Take combination of antihistaminics and mast cell stabilizers as it will give immediate relief and booster your immunity. You should take steam inhalation on daily basis . drink glass of warm water with one spoon honey. Do gargle with saline rinses. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for paranasal sinus X-ray. Start treatment after proper prescription. Take proper course of antibiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
