Hi Dr Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I have sinus and its mostly triggered by certain smell, dust or stuffy rooms or rooms with carpets. I have tried just about every medication which works for others but nothing seems to work. if it does work it only works for 3-4 hours. what do you suggest I take? currently I am taking Sinutab Tablets and its giving me headaches
Allergic rhinitis as per your query seems to be due to infection in sinuses and could be due to exposure to allergens which gets triggered as well after exposure. I would suggest you to avoid exposure to allergen. Avoid intake of cold beverages. You should cover your face and mouth while going outside and any such exposure. Take combination of antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers as it will give immediate relief and boost your immunity. You should take steam inhalation on daily basis. Do gargle with saline rinses. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Go for paranasal sinus X-ray. Start treatment after proper prescription. Take proper course of antibiotics.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
