Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Allergic Swelling On The Right Cheek And Lips Be Treated?
I believe I have having an allergic reaction. My right cheek has swollen, now my lips are swelling as well and feel slightly tingly. I took a Zyrtec around 5 hours ago for a different reason. I currently feel like a have something stuck in my throat, but can swallow OK.
If there is sudden swelling and tingling of the lip and if it has occurred for the first time then it is most probably allergic reaction only.. Although if it is just swelling then it is nothing to be worried for as it can gradually subside.. But if now you have started feeling something struck in throat then it can be due to choking of throat due to the reaction causing swelling and it can become an emergency condition by causing breathing and swallowing difficulty.. So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room so that they can examine you and advise you anti allergics and also give a steroid shot for relieving the symptoms faster.. Please take another dose of Zyrtec till you go to emergency room..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
