How Can Alpha-1-antitrypsin Deficiency Be Treated?

I ve been told that I have symptoms of A1AT deficiency, and that it would be genetic or heridtary. But no family member has had that diagnosis. Would there be other symptoms that might have been overlooked or might it have been a different name 20-30 years ago?
