Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is an infection which mainly transfers through unprotected sex.
A partner can have an asymptomatic carrier for STD. So, blood test and secretion test is necessary to confirm the diagnosis.

It can occur due to bacteria, virus, parasites, fungal and protozoan. So, safe sex is advised to prevent STD.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
