How Can An Anal Abscess Be Treated?

I have a very small anal abscess and was prescribed flucloxacillin 5000mg 4 times a day for a week. I have taken them as prescribed and it shrank and I felt better. I am 2 days away from the last dose and this morning I ve been to the toilet and on wiping I had bright red blood on paper. I feel well but is this normal ?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
It is possible that the abscess which had shrunk may have given way and has opened up. Since you had a course of antibiotic pus formation might have reduced and only a bit of blood has come. It can happen. You will have to clean the area and and drain it out. If necessary get is properly cleaned and dressed. Thanks.
