How Can An Ear Infection Be Prevented?

Hello. My husband was adjusting sprinker heads in the yard and some well water got into his ear(s). He wanted to ask what he might use (rubbing alcohol, peroxide, vinegar) to prevent the possibility of any infection from maybe dirty water from this?

He can use Boric Acid drops for disinfection. He can use warm compresses over and help the ear drain out the water.
