How Can An Ear Infection Be Treated?

Hello my name is Danielle and about two weeks ago I had a spider crawl in my ear. It finally got out but I was left with an ear infection. They gave me neomyosin polymyxin b with hydrocortisone eardrops. It said to take three drops in the left ear three times a day for 10 days. Me being stupid and busy with three jobs I was only able to take one to two drops about 1 to 2 times a day for 10 days. Now I m done with the 10 days in my ear infection is back. What it be OK if I restart taking the antibiotics? The right way? My ear is hurting so bad

Hi,

As the infection has recurred then there is a possibility that the previous infection was not completely subsided.

Also many times only ear drops are not sufficient and you need to take antibiotics orally also.

So my suggestion is to consult an Otorhinolaryngologist and get yourself examined.

You can be advised to continue the ear drops and along with it, oral antibiotics can also be advised to resolve the infection faster.

Also, avoid excessive water exposure to ear and also avoid cleaning the ears on your own.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
