How Can An Earache And Sore Throat Be Treated?

Hello, I have an ear ache and a sore throat on the right side of my body. This usually indicates a sinus infection for me. I ve been taking Advil and lying down with my right ear to the pillow. It helps with the symptoms somewhat. Is there something better to do or take? Thanks, Lisa

Hi,

You are having upper respiratory tract infection. For that along with Ibuprofen (Advil), I would like to suggest you start Levocetirizine for 5 days.

Steam inhalation with lukewarm water three times a day should be done. Salt water gargle also beneficial. Avoid the intake of excess spicy foods.

It's also advisable to take vitamin C 500 mg BD for five days.

If no improvement than Otoscopy ear examination needed an antibiotic should be started after taking a sample for CBC.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
