How Can An Electric Shock Be Treated?
I am an employee health nurse and had one of my employees get an electrical shock when plugging in a cord connected to make the bed operational. The employee sustained a shock and sustained no outward damage ie burn but my concern is her heart, and wonder if she should be seen in the ER to determine if there was any other damage done post shock?

Hi,
Minor shocks do not require any treatment. However, you have to take him to the ER and get an ECG and serum electrolytes done as shock can cause cardiac arrhythmia and electrolyte imbalance.
If no external burns are there, nothing much to worry about.
