How Can An Infected Rash In The Groin Area Be Treated?

Yes I originally thought I had an ingrown hair after shaving my groin area and then it became a rash and then it started oozing fluid, the fluid is sticky but has no odor , I went to a doctor and she said it was a cyst that erupted and will go away on its own but it has been months now , it dries up for a day or two and then it oozes for a day or two back-and-forth for the last six weeks or so

Hello,

From what you are explaining, the oozing fluid rash you have on your groin area is a pilonidal cyst (ingrown hair debris).

Shaving is a contributing factor to induce its growth. I advise stopping shaving. Instead, use other depilation alternatives like wax and also keep the area well clean.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini
