How Can An Infected Surgical Lesion Be Treated?

hello there i recently had an operation on an ingrown nail,it has been a month now since the operation and i was just sitting here and i found a loose piee of scab,i made the mistake of pulling it off and beneath the scab it is mooist,yellow and up close smeels fishy.Is this normal or is it infected?
