How Can An Infection In The Gum After A Tooth Extraction Be Treated?
I had a premolar extracted but healing has taken long and I have noticed pus on the gum were the tooth was extracted. I went back to the dentist who cleaned it but the pus has appeared again. I have been taking antibiotics and painkillers and cleaning the wound by rinsing with warm water and salt but I still feel some pain and noticed the yellow discharge stuck to the gum . What can I do ?it's the 5th day since my extraction.
So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..
As per your complain pus discharge from extraction socket with delay in healing can be due to any left over root piece into the extraction socket that must be acting as a source of infection and leading to continuous discharge of pus..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and first of all an x ray has to be taken for ruling out the exact cause of the problem and then can be treated accordingly..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
