How Can An Infection On The Penis Due To Circumcision Be Treated?
Hi doctor. Im 34 years of age and I did circumcision last week friday and today it is the 7th day and the healing process has started taking place. Few stitches came out yesterday but my problem is that I dont understand the yellow liquid from the wound and the bad smell as i wash my penis with salt water three times a day.
* As per my surgical experience, the wound infection after circumcision is most likely from staph aureus bug in the majority of the cases giving yellow liquid discharge.
* Apart from sterile dressing, antibiotics as cephalosporin, ampicillin, Amoxycillin with or without clavulanic acid are best molecules to get healing at best possible speed after controlling the causative bug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
