Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i hurt my finger in the early morning hours today. I am wheelchair bound and as i was rolling around my apartment my index finger left hand became twisted/crushed in the braking mechanism of the manual chair.. sooo, this injury should be classified as a finger crush-index finger, However it was coded as an abrasion. heres finally a question: if i have a slight and faint redesh streak going up my hand.
Due to the injury of your left index finger, it is possible there is a mild inflammation. This could be the red streak going up the hand. Also it may be good to get an X Ray of the finger to rule out a fracture. If there is a fracture, the doctor would strap your index finger to the next one to help healing of the bone injury which may take about 3 weeks or so. If there is inflammation, you may need to take antibiotics. Please do consult a general surgeon for the management.
