Having problem with left top of left foot...had X-ray done a few weeks ago .. Doctor no bones broken just a bruise on top of foot where I drop a can of honey on top of it.... I am wearing shoes that have support on all side ....should I go back to the doctor and have a Mir done?
1. As you underwent consultation and necessary investigation regarding foot injury which excluded any fracture and only bruise, get a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon regarding X-ray of Ankle for fracture or torn ligaments [if any], since bruise with a broken bone is also common.
2. As symptoms are still there, it denotes that either foot has not healed properly or was not rehabilitated properly. [furthter workup is essential with physical therapist, doctor/podiatrist]
3. If the injury was severe then a medical referral is essential to rule out fracture [since x-ray was normal thus further diagnostic tests like a bone scan, MRI can be done] and later to a sports therapist for proper evaluation of running/jumping and footwear and strengthening exercises.
