How Can An Injured Vein On The Lower Left Leg Be Treated?

I suffered a fall and punctured the vein in my lower rtf leg. I went to ER and they closed the wound with twelve stitches last Thursday at 3 am. My cardiologist will review the sonograph findings this Tuesday .AM. What can a 85 year old do to survive?

If the wound is clean and no signs of thrombosis, nothing much to worry and the wound will heal by itself.
