Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Got stung by an insect almost 48h ago. Possibly hornet, wasp, spider. I was cleaning in the yard, trimming bushes. After the initial stinging pain , it continued to burn, itch intensively and area started to swell and extend. At this time it is at least 10in diameter, itching will not stop even after applying ice. Should I see a doctor ?
I am sorry for the allergy you got from insect sting. It's normal to get itchiness and swelling after insect bite. Wash the area with warm water and soap. Look for any sting left inside. Apply cold compresses. Take oral anti-histaminic you find over the counter (e.g. Benadryl).
