How Can An Insect Bite On The Foot Be Treated?

We’re on vacation in resort in cancun Mexico. My son was bitten by a bug, on top of foot last night,not sure what insect. Today thebite area is a blister, bubble, Yellowish in color, some redness around blister. Should I apply fucidin, antibiotic ointment?

Hello,

As per your query your son have symptoms of insect bite on foot which seems to be due to allergic inflammation reaction due to the toxin injected under the skin. Need not to worry.

I would suggest you to
- Clean the area with antiseptic solution and then apply antihistaminic ointment over it like Benadryl in cream form.
- Maintain proper hygiene and clean area and avoid any scratching to prevent infection.
- Take anti allergics like Levocetrizine and along with it take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.

If condition does not become better visit general physician once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
