How Can An Insect Bite On The Upper Thigh Be Treated?
Hi. Monday AM I woke up with what appeared to be a bug bit. Large red area size of a quarter on my upper thigh. By the next day varies large red bumps from dime to quarter size appeared on both legs, painful to touch but not itchy. Got a cold next day too. Some bumps were on the heels of my feet, so I now doubt bug bites. Assume hives although ate not one food out of the normal. Yesterday and today both my ankles are swelling. I am a 57 year old white female who takes only Synthroid. Should I seek medical attention?
As per your query you have insect bite and you have insect bite on the upper thigh, you should apply cold compresses to thigh area and take benadryl as it is anti histamine drug and relieve inflammation due to allergic reaction . But i would suggest you to consult doctor if condition doesn't improve in 48 hours , because sometimes there is sting on insect inside wound , poison in wound which can spread to surrounding or there may be anaphylactic shock . Doctor may give adrenaline shot or some antidote to counter the attack of poison. Maintain complete hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
