How Can An Intracranial Epidural Hematoma Be Treated?

I have an intracranial epidural hematoma, 2 days old. It covers nearly the whole left side of my head equallying to three egg protrusions. Had a c-scan and the hematoma was found, but other than icing it nothing more was said. What more can I do? Can I still go walking? and is rest important?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, it may need to be surgically drained if causing neurological symptoms but a detailed neurosurgeon review is a must and sometime it receivers spontaneously or may need mannitol or other infusions if causing raised intracranial pressure etc. Walking is fine but driving and strenous activities should be avoided.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
